Financing for electrical projects

Some electrical projects, like panel upgrades or rewiring, are easier to plan for when you can spread out the cost. Financing may be available through a third-party lender, subject to approval. The lender sets the terms, not Precise Electrical.

How financing works

If financing is available for your project, we can point you to the lender once you have a written quote. You apply with the lender directly. The lender decides whether you are approved and sets the rate, the term and any fees. We do not decide who qualifies, and we do not set or quote financing terms.

Once the lender approves you and you accept the quote, we schedule the work the same way we would for any other job.

Questions to ask the lender

Read any financing agreement carefully before you sign it, and ask the lender to explain anything that is not clear. These are good places to start.

  • The interest rate, and whether it can change
  • How long the loan lasts and what the monthly payment is
  • Any fees for setup, late payments or paying early
  • What happens when any promotional period ends
  • Whether applying affects your credit

Other ways to manage the cost

Financing is not the only option. Larger projects can sometimes be split into phases, starting with the most important safety work. We will also tell you when a smaller fix will do the job, such as a load management device that can sometimes let you add an EV charger without a full service upgrade.

Common questions

Do you offer financing?

Financing may be available through a third-party lender, subject to approval. The lender, not Precise Electrical, decides who qualifies and sets the rate, term and fees. Ask when you get your written quote whether financing is available for your project.

Will applying affect my credit?

It depends on the lender. Some start with a soft credit check that does not affect your score, and some run a full credit check. Ask the lender before you apply so you know which kind they use and how it may show up on your credit report.

What kinds of projects can be financed?

It depends on the lender and the project. Financing is most often used for larger jobs, such as panel and service upgrades, rewiring and EV charger installations. Ask about it when you request your estimate so you can plan around the options.

Can businesses finance commercial electrical work?

Possibly. Financing for businesses can work differently than consumer financing, and availability depends on the lender. Ask us when you get your quote, and check with your own bank too, since you may already have a business line of credit or other options.
